A two-day Conference on Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) for the TVET Sector was held at the BPML Conference Hall, Cyber Tower 1, Ebène on 17 and 18 May 2016. In this context the MQA organised an Opening Ceremony where the Hon (Mrs) Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, Minister of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research and other important personalities were present. The objective of the Conference was to involve stakeholders in the enhancement of the quality assurance mechanism in the TVET sector in Mauritius and to take as benchmark best practices in different regions around the world that will enable the MQA to come up with a Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) for the TVET sector in line with international norms. Three international Resource Persons were invited to share their experience and to provide invaluable knowledge for the realization of the QAF namely Mr Paul Comyn, Senior Skills and Employability Specialist at the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Mrs Lee Katauskas, Ag. Director, VET Regulation Policy/Quality & Regulation Branch, Australian Government Department of Education and Training and Mr Muhamad Amran Zainal Abidin, Director of Accreditation Division of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Prior to the Conference, the three Resource Persons had a working session with the staff at the MQA on 16 May 2016.
